Beat Box: SWAGGERING AND DARK BOND MUSIC

When the first Bond film graced the big screen in 1962, the lead character James Bond swept some of the most beautiful women off their feet. Much can also be said about the theme songs of one of the world’s best movie franchise. One of the composers of the Bond music David Arnold best described the Bond theme songs as “cocky, swaggering, confident, dark, dangerous, suggestive, sexy and unstoppable.”

The success of the Bond films should not only be credited to the style and acting prowess of actors such as Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig, but the theme songs also played a role in branding the Bond effect. My own opinion is superstars such as Shirley Bassey, Paul McCartney, Tina Turner, Madonna and Gladys Knight to name drop a few desire to be mentioned when it comes to the success of the Bond Franchise.
