Gaming developers Electronic Arts plans to offer its special mobile racing game, ‘Real Racing 3’, for free to iOS and Android users. The mobile games predecessor ‘Real Racing 2’ was sold at a hefty price.
This compromise will see EA also claim a
stake at a business known as “freemium” within the mobile industry. For the
company this an opportunity to get in front of more faces that have a relative
interest in mobile gaming and to be pretty certain this can prove to be a
costly move or a well calculated move.
The company has already seen success in the
arena with The Simpsons: Tapped Out, which still remains a cash cow through
in-app purchases. ‘Real Racing 3’ will be available on February 28 and let’s hope
with this offering EA won’t have any regrets for not attaching a price tag.
