STER-KINEKOR’S “GIRLFRIENDS GETAWAY” PRESENTS IDENTITY THIEF

Girls! Grab a group of your closest female friends, workmates or family members and head on down to your nearest Ster-Kinekor cinema for a real girls’ night out – definitely no guys allowed! The “Girlfriends Getaway” event for 2013, presented by Ster-Kinekor, takes place on Wednesday, 6 March, from 19:00, and gives you a sneak preview of a special movie title before its public release.

This month’s movie in question is sure to have you giggling in the aisles. Directed by Seth Gordon, Identity Thief stars Jason Bateman of Horrible Bosses, and the delightful Bridesmaids star Melissa McCarthy in this all-star comedy in which a normal guy is forced to go to extreme measures to clear his name. The film’s release date across the country is on 22 March.

With everything to lose after his identity is stolen, the guy in question soon finds out just how crazed one can get when trying to settle a bad credit score. Unlimited funds at her disposal have allowed Diana (McCarthy) to live it up on the outskirts of Miami, where the queen of retail buys whatever strikes her fancy. There’s only one glitch however: the ID she’s using to finance “Sandy Bigelow Patterson”… and it belongs to a male – an accounts rep (Bateman), who lives halfway across the United States.

With only one week to hunt down the con artist before his entire world implodes around him, the real Sandy Bigelow Patterson heads south to confront the woman with an all-access pass to his life. And, as he attempts to bride, coax and confront her as they make 2 000 mile trek back to Denver, one easy target will discover just how tough it is to get your name back – and how easily your identity can be stolen!
